Friends Archers and Countrymen

Friends Archers and Countrymen Lend me your ears , 2014 is finally here! I hope everyone had a happy Holiday, a Merry Christmas and memorable hunting season! With a new year upon us, it is time to make our plans for the upcoming season of open to the public (3~D) shoots. As most of us know it takes some effort to put on a quality experience for our visitors as well as having a good time ourselves, This year when you send in your update form, please give us any input we can use to help make our club more desirable to visitors and members alike. Also if there is anything you would be of assistance with during the season please be sure to let us know this also.

To start off the new year right, our monthly meetings will be on the first Wednesday of the month, this may change as we see how many members can regularly make it out , the next meeting will be Feb. 5th at 6:30 pm. in the warmth of the Punderson Chalet. Located at the top of the sledding hill, there is no vendor this year so we will need to bring our own refreshments if we like I will bring the coffee! . Our March meeting will be immediately after the Game dinner March 8th. I hope everyone will do their best to come to our monthly meetings this year!

The first shoot of the season is on April 12~13 and is our traditional 2~D Turkey Shoot, this is out trial run for the season, as it is usually wet and we tend to get a lighter than normal turnout .so we may iron out any problems that arise. the reason it is a traditional archery shoot is because of the 2~D targets, light poundage and youth compound bows will be OK.to use if necessary year round group shooting is still going on strong, we meet at the club by noon , each Sunday and form groups to shoot the 3~D targets on the trad. range, everyone is welcome to join the fun. If the snow is deep we park out front and walk in. this is a great time to introduce a friend to our club! I hope to see you there!

Game Dinner / Elections meeting

GAME DINNER This year's dinner will be on Saturday, March 5th at 5:00. Once again we will be meeting inside the rustic Great Blue Heron Lodge located at the Rookery. What is the Rookery, you ask? It is a Geauga County Park located just 2 miles from our club grounds near Munson Township. It has been the perfect spot due to its location and being part of the park district, it is cost effective. Everyone is invited. Just bring a covered dish or dessert. Wild game or not! Coffee, pop and water will be provided. Directions from Chesterland: Take route 322 E. to Rockheaven road and turn right. The road will then make a right turn, follow it to Cedar road. Turn right on Cedar and you're there. For more information, call Mike at (440)-227-6756
